Meet Our Pastor
Rev. Jeffrey Thompson, Senior Pastor
Reverend Jeffrey Thompson is the founder, organizer and senior pastor of New Hope Community Church. Pastor Thompson's down-to-earth style of preaching, keen biblical insight and trademark humor make an immediate connection with everyone who hears his messages. His power-packed preaching has already made a significant impact on the Greater Las Vegas community.
Pastor Thompson is a native of San Francisco, California and has preached the uncompromising Word of God for over twenty years. He has served in various ministry capacities over the years (youth pastor, worship leader, and associate pastor). Prior to founding this ministry, Pastor Thompson served at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield/Suisun City, California ("One Church in Two Locations") under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Claybon Lea, Jr. His preaching has afforded him the opportunity to preach all over the United States and most recently internationally, while in Israel in March 2008. He was named a Tourism Goodwill Ambassador for Israel by Yitzhak Aharonovitch Israel's Minister of Tourism.
Moreover, Pastor Thompson has served as an Addiction Counselor for close to twenty years. Pastor Thompson has a heart to help the person suffering with the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction. God has used him over the years to help others out of the dark hole he once found himself in.
As an ambassador of Jesus Christ, Pastor Thompson was called by God to begin this new work in Las Vegas, Nevada. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's College in Moraga, California. Pastor Thompson is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (Souther California Campus) in Brea, California.
Pastor Thompson has committed his life to fulfilling the Great Commission.
